  2. “Will it hurt?” Pain is a common question, especially for lip blush, microneedling, or chemical peels. We use numbing cream where appropriate and ensure discomfort is minimal and manageable.
  3. “What is the downtime?” Many clients worry about how they will look afterwards. We provide clear expectations on redness, swelling, and how long until you can return to daily activities or wear makeup.

  2. Results are often progressive: Expecting instant results can lead to disappointment. Many treatments, especially for skin rejuvenation, require a course of sessions for optimal outcomes, with improvements appearing over weeks as collagen builds. Lip blush colour will soften and settle after healing.
  3. What happens during the appointment: We'll walk you through each step, from consultation and preparation to the treatment itself and immediate aftercare advice, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed throughout your visit to our Penkridge clinic.

Are there any specific things clients need to do to prepare for their treatment or look after their skin afterwards?

Yes, preparation and aftercare are crucial for safety, comfort, and achieving the best possible results. Here are key things clients should know:

Before the treatment (preparation)

  • Avoid active skincare: For about 3-5 days before treatment, avoid retinol/vitamin A products, strong exfoliants (AHA/BHA), and harsh scrubs. These can make your skin more sensitive.
  • Avoid sun exposure: Sunbeds or excessive sun exposure should be avoided. Sunburnt skin may mean postponing your treatment.
  • Avoid alcohol or blood thinners (for some treatments): Before SPMU or injectables, it’s best to avoid alcohol, aspirin, or certain supplements (unless medically required) to reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding.

What do clients usually ask about booking an appointment, changing it, or any other policies they should be aware of?

Here’s what you need to know about our policies at Aesthetics by Dawn:

  • Refunds: We do not offer refunds on treatments as we cannot guarantee or predict individual results. However, we always work with our clients to resolve any problems.
  • Aftercare: You will receive comprehensive aftercare advice after each treatment. We will liaise with you within 2 weeks to discuss your results.
  • Consultations: We provide a no-obligation 1:1 consultation to create a plan for your desired results, review relevant information, and discuss your suitability for treatment.
  • Prescriber review: Some treatments are subject to a further review with our prescriber. This will be confirmed during your consultation, and an appointment for this review will be required before further treatment can commence.
  • Booking & deposit: All appointments are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email/text. A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required to secure your booking, which will be deducted from your final payment.
